K. Tristan Tang is a research fellow with the Defense Studies Initiative at the Taiwan Inspiration Association and the designer of KTT’s Wargame. He is also a Nonresident Fellow at the National Bureau of Asian Research and a 2026 Nonresident Vasey Fellow and Young Leader at the Pacific Forum. In addition, he serves as an Associate Fellow at the Center for China Studies at National Taiwan University and an Associate Fellow at the Secure Taiwan Associate Corporation.
His research focuses on the People’s Liberation Army, particularly military exercises and senior-level purges. His work has appeared in publications affiliated with the U.S. Air University, the U.S. Naval War College, the U.S. Army War College, the Jamestown Foundation, and The Diplomat, among others. His analyses and wargaming activities have been reported on or cited by the U.S.–China Economic and Security Review Commission (USCC), the Associated Press, The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, CNN, The Economist, The Financial Times, NHK, Taiwan’s Central News Agency, and Liberty Times, among others.
湯廣正是台灣勵志協會國防研究倡議研究員、KTT的兵推系統設計者。他也是美國智庫國家亞洲研究局(National Bureau of Asian Research)非常駐研究員、美國智庫太平洋論壇(Pacific Forum)非常駐研究員及青年領袖計畫成員。他同時擔任社團法人安全臺灣學會副研究員、國立臺灣大學中國大陸研究中心副研究員。
湯廣正的研究領域為解放軍，特別是軍事演習和高層整肅議題，發表散見於美國空軍大學、美國海軍戰院、美國陸軍戰院、美國智庫Jamestown Foundation、The Diplomat等。他的分析和兵推活動，曾刊載或被引用於美國美中經濟暨安全檢討委員會(USCC)年度報告、美聯社、紐約時報、華爾街日報、CNN、彭博社、經濟學人、金融時報、NHK、中央社、自由時報等。
